I know I am like a broken record BUT I can't reiterate how important it is to ensure you incorporate a daily walk into your lifestyle. Life is busy, we all know that but we can all manage to squeeze in at least 10 minute walk when really pushed for time.
We've all heard about the 10,000 steps a day which is great but not always achievable every single day. In fact the NHS recommends 150 minutes a week for 19-64 year olds. I always recommend to my clients to set a weekly steps target rather than a daily as this much easier to achieve.
The benefits of regular steps are:
Boost immunity and mood
Builds strength and stamina
Help's weight loss
Improves heart health and lung capacity
Reduces chronic diseases
My top tips for getting it done:
Break up your walks into smaller chunks
Listen to some banging tunes
Plan it in your diary and week no matter what - plan around the weather if you have to
Make it a social activity where possible with friends and family
Walk with a route in mind or as part of your commute to work/gym/shops
Hope this helps!
